Certification Maintenance

You have worked hard to achieve your CPIM, CSCP or CLTD certification. Keeping your certification up-to-date and active shows your dedication to your career in operations and supply chain management and helps boost your standing within your organization and the industry.

Below you will find maintenance requirements and procedures to help guide you through the process. View the APICS certification maintenance bulletins for full maintenance program policies and procedures, including activity categories and point allowances.

 

Certification Maintenance Requirements

CPIM

  • Must earn a total of 75 professional development points every five years.
  • If you do not maintain your certification within five years, your certification will be placed in suspended status. You will be unable to refer to yourself as a CPIM until your certification is placed back in good standing.
  • With each additional year your certification is suspended, you are required to submit 15 additional professional development points to reinstate your certification.
  • If you do not maintain certification within five years of suspension, your certification will expire, and you will be required to retake your exams. You will be unable to refer to yourself as a CPIM until your certification is placed back in good standing

CSCP

  • Must earn a total of 75 professional development points every five years.
  • If you do not maintain your certification within five years, your certification will be placed in suspended status. You will be unable to refer to yourself as a CSCP until your certification is placed back in good standing.
  • With each additional year your certification is suspended, you are required to submit 15 additional professional development points to reinstate your certification.
  • If you do not maintain certification within five years of suspension, your certification will expire, and you will be required to retake your exam. You will be unable to refer to yourself as a CSCP until your certification is placed back in good standing.

CLTD

  • Must earn a total of 75 professional development points every five years.
  • If you do not maintain your certification within five years, your certification will be placed in suspended status. You will be unable to refer to yourself as a CLTD until your certification is placed back in good standing.
  • With each additional year your certification is suspended, you are required to submit 15 additional professional development points to reinstate your certification.
  • If you do not maintain certification within five years of suspension, your certification will expire, and you will be required to retake your exam. You will be unable to refer to yourself as a CLTD until your certification is placed back in good standing.

 

Work on you Certification Maintenance with a vLm membership

vLm, as the Dutch professional association for Logistics and Supply Chain Management and APICS Premier Channel Partner, offers you the network and infrastructure to maintain your APICS certification. We offer a variety of network and knowledge events, workshops, conferences and excursions that help you earn the maintenance points to maintain your certification. The vLm membership alone contributes 6 points each year as does the APICS membership.

 

As a vLm member you can register for activities through the online portal and monitor your CM points on your personal member account.

A publicly available online certification verification tool is offered on the APICS website to provide prospective employers and other stakeholders with a simple, easy way to verify an individual’s certification status.  Candidates who require verification of their own credentials for personal use can view a detailed report through My APICS Certifications.
